PC blockbuster XCOM 2 getting a console release in September

2K have announced that XCOM 2 is getting a Playstation 4 and Xbox One release on September 9 in the UK. Costing around the £40 mark the release will be highly anticipated by all those that don’t have a PC gaming rig, but are aware of the killer scores that XCOM 2 received when it had its PC release.

Set 20 years in the future, humanity has had its arse handed to it by a bunch of rowdy aliens. XCOM, a formerly secret paramilitary group, aims to take the power back by way of strategic methods mostly involving killy death moves.

Scoring a massive 94% on PC Gamer and 9.3 out of 10 on IGN on the PC release, it’d be fair to say expectations will be high for this strategy title when it hits consoles later this year. Early bird orders will also gain all paid DLC alongside the additional Resistance Warrior Pack.

Check out the trailer above to see what you can expect this autumn. I know, but don’t be so shallow. It may not be the prettiest of games, but it’s what’s inside that counts and it is supposed to be really, really good.
