Star Wars Battlefront trailer is revealed

It’s been quite the week for Star Wars fans. The loyal have been given hope for the future of the movie franchise with the latest movie trailer for episode 7 featuring non other than Han freakin’ Solo and Chewie, but the Star Wars Battlefront trailer is revealed today by game developers DICE. It’s the third instalment in the popular Star Wars series of games, making its first appearance on Xbox One and Playstation 4 as well as returning to PC.

There will be no single-player campaign mode, but rather there will be crafted missions that will be available to play alone or with friends both locally and online. It will also be possible to customise characters, choosing weapons and abilities as well as changing their appearance. Available characters will include the dark lord himself, Darth Vader, as well as bounty-hunter baddie, Boba Fett.

Online multiplayer will have a maximum of 40 players live at any time, however some game-modes will have a smaller limit. Gameplay will include the ability to fight in the both third and first person perspectives.

With speeder bikes, exploding AT-AT walkers and force-fed shenanigans featured, it’s looking like this is the year Star Wars will finally manage to turn away from the dark side of Lucas’ destructive influence on the series.

Star Wars Battlefront will be available November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, XBOX ONE and on Origin for PC

This looks like the game that will force me to buy a Playstation 4. I don’t see anything (barring Shadows of Mordor) that makes me want to shell out for next gen – but this looks like the title to make me sell a kidney.

Also, Dice are making it and as long as they don’t do a Hardline it should be brilliant. Battlefield is still my favourite online killing field.
